Whether our members are working from home or from coLAB, our community is much more than just four walls of a building or what happens inside of that building. While we have had to socially and physically distance ourselves, we have worked diligently to provide a variety of ways for our members to have connections with one another.
Here are all the ways that our community has stayed connected…
Virtual Events:
Thank God for technology. Although meeting online and staring at the computer screen for hours will never equate to in-person interactions, we wanted to be sure that our members at least had the option and access to do so, as they needed. We’ve hosted online Bingo games, Trivia, and morning coffee connects.
Essential Businesses:
We have a few businesses here at coLAB that have continued their services and utilized the workspace (responsibly and carefully) to serve their clients. We have stayed connected with these members and have supported them during this difficult time by managing the space and giving them any resources they need.
Slack:
An online collaboration tool for us to communicate with members quickly and efficiently without having to fill their inbox with email after email. It is a fun way to share a good laugh or smile in the middle of someone’s day by sending a meme or GIF. We have occasionally sparked discussions with members around specific topics such as: top playlists, new hobbies at home, recommended TV shows and movies, etc. Slack also has an add-on called Lunch Train. Lunch Train allows you and your teammates to easily plan a lunch together and they receive a reminder when it’s time to depart.
Emails:
Our constant companion. We’ve kept clear communication with our members and subscribers by sending out weekly digest emails and monthly newsletters with upcoming events, businesses resources, fun articles and videos of ourselves saying hello, just in case our members missed seeing our faces.
Supporting Local:
we are better together. Operating a business in Sonoma County, a place where resiliency was, unfortunately, built on wildfires, we’ve quickly realized that linking arms in this community is essential. With this in mind, we’ve created a few different outlets for us to support local businesses together.
- Weekly F.E.E.D. Sonoma Bin Program – a weekly and bi-weekly bin program that includes bins of multi-farm veggies with the option for pick up or delivery straight to your doorstep. We eliminated the process of members having to order these boxes online for themselves and have allowed them to order directly through us. Easy as 1,2,3! - Community Challenge – Hashtag, what was the challenge? The Community Challenge was a social media campaign to encourage any and everyone to support a local business while entering to win a local goods package valued at $135. Fortunately for us, one of our current members claimed the prize! Nice job, Steve!
- Foodie Fridays – Downtown Santa Rosa is going European! Our downtown area will be closing down a few streets in order to allow restaurants to increase their outdoor seating by adding tables and chairs into the street area. Every Friday, we invite members to join us at a different restaurant for lunch. Great food and even greater company.
